Overwatch 2 has received a ton of controversy over its new Battle Pass system, with many gamers feeling like there hasn’t been much that’s changed, and the new style only being a new way for the developers to monetize the title.
In my personal opinion, I do love some of the changes I’m about to discuss, but some of these changes don’t necessarily address some of the issues I have with this game, but more on that in future videos. For now, Let’s go over the changes and how they may affect your experience this season!
New Skins, Theme, and Maps

Season 2 has brought with it several new maps, and Battle Pass which will give you access to new cosmetics and skins. The theme of this season is Greek Mythology, and the pinnacle award this season is the Zeus Junker Queen Mythic Skin.
At first glance, these new skins look pretty amazing. I love the Zeus Junker Queen skin, but I’m unsure if I’ll be able to play enough hours to unlock it. The skin will include new customizations, weapon modes, voice lines, and special effects. You can also unlock new godly legendary skins for Ramattra, and Pharah.
New Events

There are a few events this season, the first is the Winter Wonderland which begins on December 13th, and Ends on January 4th. Next, we will have the Battle of Olympus game mode that will be available from January 5th thru January 19th. Each event should bring with it its own set of new skins to unlock and buy, but for this specific event, the skins should reveal what we may expect in the new game mode.
The third and final event is the Lunar New Year event, which begins on January 17th, and ends on February 1. This event will also bring a new epic and legendary skins along with it.
The New Tank Hero

Ramattra is the new Tank hero coming this season, and after reviewing the gameplay I think he will be a problem when you know how to use him properly. Ramattra is a tempo tank and will have two different modes, omnic and nemesis, you can switch between these modes depending on the situation on the battlefield.
He can shoot a stream of steady attacks using his Void Accelerator staff and can use his Void Barrier shield to shield attacks from enemies for a brief time. His nemesis form will grant you bonus armor and changes a few of his abilities. One attack in this form is called pummel, Ramattra will use his massive arms to fire these waves of energy at enemies. These punches can even hit players through enemy shields.
As I said before, Ramattra may be a problem if you know how to use him.
Lastly, let’s talk about a few of the balance changes
Balance Changes

There are many characters that will receive balance changes. The developer list changes for all of the following characters, Ana, Doomfist, Sojourn, Bastion, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Mercy, and Symmetra. There weren’t very many details about all of the balance changes, but we do have information on Sojourn and Doomfist.
Sojourn’s updates primarily focus on the lethality of her Rail Gun at a distance. This will be nerfed to encourage you to close the distance using the character’s mobility.
Doomfist is receiving numerous changes to “better support his role as the team’s front line”. I’m not sure exactly what this means, but I expect his gameplay will have some of the greatest changes that come with the release of the Battle Pass. This update mentions nothing about Roadhog, which is a character I hope they make adjustments to later on down the line.
That’s it for the Overwatch 2 updates that are coming on December 6th. I’d like to know how you feel about these. Are you excited to use Ramatta, and would like to see other characters updated or nerfed in the future?
