Since Netflix came out with its first 10 games, it has gathered the interested of less than 10 percent of it’s current number of subscribers. CNBC has revealed an average of 1.7 million daily gamers on the platform, out of approximately 221.64 million paid subscribers worldwide in the second quarter of 2022. This would be understandably unsurprising for most people. With mainstream giants like Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo continuously rolling out big hits on consoles as well as streaming sites, it’s almost impossible to compete in the top leagues. However, this would be true if the offerings by Netflix were actually bad. In fact, the real reason for the unflattering statistics is a lot more amusing: Nobody seems to know how to play, or find games on Netflix.
According to the buzz in the gaming sector, Netflix is hosting a terrific roster of video games. It currently has 24 games in its catalog, with concrete plans to expand this number to 50 by the year’s end. The lack of awareness may also be contributed to the fact that the games are available only on smart phones or tablets that run on iOS 15 or Android 8 or higher. Netflix games are free-to-play, and do not have any ads or in-app purchases. Among the games that Netflix has brought under its umbrella are Into the Breach and Exploding Kittens, which have already been well established on other platforms. It also brings originals like Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game expanding on the universe of its popular series title. Another one based on a popularly existing universe is Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story which is sure to bring League of Legends fans into the subscription list after the incredible success of their series “Arcane” on the same platform.
How Can You Play Games On Netflix?
If you have a Netflix subscription and some free space on your mobile device, you have all you need to play the games. On the Netflix app, look for the Games tab on the bottom of your screen. In case you don’t see a separate tab for the games, you might find a section of video games randomly in the Home tab. Once you see a game that sparks your curiosity, click on the square icon and choose “Get Game”. This will direct you to the Play store or App store where you can download the game on your device. After the download is complete, it might prompt you to log in to your Netflix account. At this point you would also want to choose your profile in order to save your progress since these games can be played on multiple profiles as well.
With that being said, the Netflix app is not a requirement in order to play games offered by the streaming site. You can download any game offered by Netflix directly from the store by searching the name. All Netflix games will be marked with the service’s logo “N” on the icon’s top corner.
