Vinland Saga is a very famous anime by the world-renowned Wit Studio. This anime has a very nice style of animation which is backed up by its equally amazing story and sound-tracks.

However, most people don’t really understand why this anime is getting so much love. And I truly understand those people as the first season was kind of one-directional. The show mainly only focused on Thorfinn’s hate for Askelad and sadly, got pretty boring and repetitive along the way.

From the first season alone, I’d give this anime an 8 out of 10 at best. Then, why is Vinland Saga still being hyped up so much by the whole anime community?

Well, the main reason for this hype is the fact that the story will vastly improve in the coming seasons.

Today, I’ll be talking about the different amazing aspects of the season 1 of Vinland Saga, and I’ll also give you guys some reasons to look forward to the upcoming season of this amazing series.

Before we get started, let’s take a look at the plot of this masterpiece!:

Thorfinn used to live a relatively happy yet boring life in Iceland. In Iceland, this boy used to hear the tales of a faraway place known as Vinland, where no one ever fights, and everyone lives in harmony. Thorfinn was pretty excited to see this place with his own eyes, but all of that changed once his father was killed in front of his very eyes.

After the death of his father, this boy swore to take revenge from the man named Askelad and became a mercenary. This boy’s world is filled with war and chaos, but he is just chasing after his one singular goal.

The plot of this anime seems pretty one-directional, but the show itself is pretty intense and diverse. As we get closer to the end, the anime starts to focus more on the lives of all the other characters in its world. Let us also talk about all the other aspects of this show.

Animation:

Vinland Saga Anime

Animation is one of the best aspects of this anime as it has been developed by everyone’s favorite, Wit Studio. Wit Studio is the studio which is also responsible for the development of the world-famous anime, Attack on Titan. Vinland Saga has some of the most intense fight scenes which have been very beautifully animated. The show also gives us very good transitions between different scenes.

Story and World Building:

The story of this anime focuses on how the Vikings spent their days. This anime gives us a very tragic and intense tale which just reels us in. Vinland Saga’s world is also quite diverse and full of mysteries. This anime’s world seems way more diverse than even our world as it shows us how the war between England and the Danes took place. You just can’t help but fall in the spiral of the deep complexities of this anime.

Characters:

The characters in this anime are pretty well-built as all of them have their own personalities which are developed over the course of Vinland Saga. The characters are very realistic and likable, and we just can’t help but feel bad for them as the show tells us more about the struggles in their lives.

Final Thoughts

Vinland Saga deserves all the hype that it is receiving right now. The first season of this anime might’ve gotten a little repetitive in the middle, but it started to get extremely good again as we approached the ending.

The second season of Vinland Saga is going to be even more intense as it will show us Thorfinn’s development. Thorfinn will finally understand his father’s words, and he will start searching for Vinland. The new season will also expand a lot on the lives of all the other characters in this series.

Vinland Saga season 2 is something all of us should be looking forward to.
