Disney+ unveils the very first trailer along with a poster for the animated-comedy filled with live-action Chip N’ Dale starring some of your favorite actors including John Mulaney, Andy Samberg, Kiki Layne, Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Dennis Haysbert, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, J.K. Simmons, and Chris Parnel.
In this comeback, we catch up with former Disney Afternoon television stars in present-day Los Angeles. The movie is set to premiere in May 2022, specifically on Disney+.
A cast that’ll blow you away
“Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” features some of the most talented and beloved actors from Hollywood. To start things off, we have John Mulaney from “Saturday Night Live” playing Chip and Andy Samberg from “Brooklyn Nine Nine” playing Dale. The cast is also joined by Will Arnett from Arrested Development, Eric Bana from “Dirty John”, along with Keeghan-Micheal from “Key & Peele”, Dennis Haysbert from “24”, Flula Borg from “Pitch Perfect 2”, Seth Rogen from “Pineapple Express”, Tress MacNeille from “The Simpsons”, Tim Robinson from “I Think You Should Leave”, and another talented start from SNL, Chris Parnell.
Direction and Production
The directors and producers are no new names in the industry either, with plenty of experience under their belt. The film has been directed under Akiva Schaffer from “Saturday Night Live” and written by the talented Dan Gregor and Doug Mand (writers involved in the hit show “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”). The film has been produced by Todd Lieberman who produced movies such as “The Fighter” and David Hoberman who produced “Beauty and the Beast”, with Alexander Young (known for the thriller “Extinction”) along with Tom Peitzman acting as executive producers.
In “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,”, we find our lead cartoon characters living in Modern-day LA among humans. Chip & Dale are a lot different now, a lot has changed since their successful show was canceled, with Chip (Voiced over by John Mulaney) settling for a job as an insurance salesman. Dale (Voiced over by Andy Samberg) on the other hand is still somehow trying to live the glory days, having CGI surgery done and working for the nostalgia convention circuit. Things get interesting when old an castmate suddenly goes missing, and Chip and Dale must let go of the past and rekindle their old friendship and once again take on their roles as Rescue Rangers to save their friend from harm’s way.
