Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the latest anime series that initially aired in the fall of 2020, and in my personal opinion, it is the best anime of the season. Jujutsu Kaisen is an action-shounen anime that gives us a unique and interesting story with an amazing cast of memorable characters. Let us take a closer look at the different aspects of this anime that make it a huge success.
The plot of Jujutsu Kaisen follows the story of Yuuji Itadori, who is a young and strong high schooler. Yuuji used to live a pretty peaceful life until he accidentally discovered a cursed object. When Yuuji’s friends try to remove the seal on this cursed object, they are attacked by different demonic beings. In order to save their lives, Yuuji eats this cursed object and becomes the host of a very powerful demon.
Soon Yuuji discovers that these demons exist all around him, and they try to harm humans in every way possible. These demons are exorcised by Jujutsu sorcerers, and so Yuuji decides to join these sorcerers in order to protect innocent people.
The plot of this anime alone makes it stand out as a fresh and unique series. The story of Jujutsu Kaisen further develops in every new episode, and it does not seem repetitive or predictable.
Animation & Art Style
The animation of Jujutsu Kaisen is exceptionally beautiful and breathtaking as it has been handled by the renowned animation studio, MAPPA. The characters and backgrounds have been animated brilliantly, and the transitions between scenes are natural. The art style of the anime is different yet attractive.
Characters:
The amazing cast of Jujutsu Kaisen is extremely memorable and relatable. All of the characters seem realistic, as their personalities are not just based on a few simple quirks. These characters develop with the release of every new episode. Let us take a closer look at the personalities and designs of some of these characters:
Yuuji Itadori:
Yuuji Itadori is the main protagonist in this anime series, and he is quite different from other shounen protagonists. This guy has a pretty brave heart, but he is not an unrealistic person like every other shounen protagonist. Yuuji knows and accepts his limits, but he tries to do his best for his friends. Yuuji has a very muscular build and light-brown hair.
Satoru Gojou:
Satoru Gojou is probably the most mysterious character in the entire show. He is the teacher of our protagonist and also a complete badass. Satoru might not show it, but he has a very caring and righteous personality. He has a slender and tall build with spiky white hair and also wears a black bandana over his eyes for some unknown reason.
Megumi Fushiguro:
Megumi Fushiguro is the first sorcerer in Yuuji’s life and also one of his greatest allies. Megumi is a strong and serious guy who wants to protect every innocent person from these demonic creatures. Megumi has black hair and beautiful green eyes.
Nobara Kugisaki:
Now, let us talk about the only main female character that has been introduced in the show so far. This girl seems a little arrogant and self-centered from afar, but she is a very kind person at heart. Nobara Kugisaki is an extremely strong and caring sorceress, who is ready to help any person in need. Nobara has beautifully dyed hair and orange eyes.
Conclusion
Jujutsu Kaisen is not a masterpiece, but it may turn out to be one of the best anime series of 2020. With amazing humor and a well-written story, this anime series is the complete package. Every anime fan should give Jujutsu Kaisen a shot.
