Those looking for new Nintendo content can expect the following games:

  • Pokémon Legends: Arceus (Switch) – A new game based on the almost 26 year old Pokémon series dropped this past Friday on 28th of January. With this game the franchise is aiming to evolve and experiment with new ideas. The action focused Legends: Arceus is a major way away from the classic Pokémon series. It takes place in a long gone era of the ancient region of Sinnoh where the Pokémon League does not exist. The concept of Pokémon trainers and living together in harmony with Pokémon is has not been established yet. Arceus is the Alpha Pokémon who has shaped everything in the world. The game follows the Galaxy Expedition Team in Jubilife Village who are people that have come from different parts of the world to study the mysteries of the Hisui region. The team comprises of various Corps like Medical Corps, Secuirty Corps, and Survey Corps etc. The mission of the game is to survey, catch and research wild Pokémon that inhibit the Hisui area and complete the first Pokédex. The storyline ties into recent remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl that are both available on Nintendo Switch.
  • OlliOlli World (eShop) ­– Announced over the summer, the game is scheduled to be released on 8th Feb 2022. The third entry in the OlliOlli game series promises a thrilling adventure of action packed skateboarding. The 2D game is set in a place called Radlandia, which is an extremely colorful world where players get to interact with other characters and perform tricks. Get the highest score by chaining together as many combos as you can.

  • Rise of the Third Power – A retro role playing game developed by Stegosoft Games has a planned release date of 10 Feb 2022. It is said to be an old gen console style RPG infused with modern technology like the Auto Save feature for the user’s convenience.
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Switch) – A new 3D Kirby game is returning to Switch on 25th of March. Lead Pink Kirby to save your kidnapped friends from the Beast Pack. From blowing up enemies and new copy abilities, this game has all the intriguing factors expected from a Kirby canon.
  • Touken Ranbu Warriors – Coming soon on Nintendo Switch and eShop, this 3D game is based on the Japanese Touken Ranbu series. The famous swords take the form of a group of elite fighters called Touken Danshi to become warriors and protect the history. In the game’s story, the Touken Danshi warriors are attacked by History Retrograde Army. Release date on Nintendo Switch is set for 24 May 2022.
  • Life is Strange: Remastered Collection – This is a game that has already been delayed multiple times from its original release date. Developer Psyonix announced on Twitter that the game will be releasing on all platforms barring Switch on 1st February 2022. This is due to unknown setbacks that have not been shared. The cloud version of the game will be released on Switch by December.
