Rocket League is a PC game where cars play football or soccer for our readers in the United States. Despite being released in 2015, the game continues to be favored among players and has survived the test of time. It is now available to play on mobile and tablets in the form of Rocket League Sideswipe. The Neon Nights event aims to celebrate the game’s notoriously extensive soundtrack while promoting Grimes’s upcoming album as well. The event brings a couple of new and exciting updates:
- New Event Challenges
According to Rocket League’s announcement, challenges will be transmitted directly by a super-intelligent deep space AI. Players get a chance to unlock the following new items by completing the challenges in the event:
- “Player of Games” and “Shinigami Eyes” Player anthems
- Grimes themed Gravitator Topper
- Space Queen Topper
- Grimes Decal
- Grimes Wheels
- Braided Tail
- Fireworks Universal Decal
- Uncanny Boost
The rewards are all themed around the artist, with the song “Shinigami Eyes” documented as Chapter 1 of her new upcoming album Book 1.
- Bonus Cosmetics
The rewards extend to free rocket league cosmetics as well, which can be obtained through codes. Get a Limited edition popcorn rocket boost by using the following active code: popcorn
To redeem this code, open the game and head to Extras. Select Redeem Code and enter the code. The rewards will automatically be added to your garage.
Neon Nights Event starting from January 26
- Golden Moons
You can also earn Golden Moons during the event period and keep them in your inventory. The Golden Moons can be opened and exchanged with items from the Impact, Nitro, and Overdrive series.
- Limited Time Mode (LTM)
Fan-favorite Heatseeker Ricochet mode returns for a limited time with the Neon Nights event. A chaotic game mode where every hit makes the ball soar towards the opponent team goal and each hit that does not result in a goal increases the ball’s speed significantly. Barricade, Colossus, and Hourglass areas were added to the LTM with the launch of Season 5.
To mark the start of the event, Grimes appeared on Rocket League’s first-ever Instagram Live which was hosted by Athena. Neon Nights continues till 8th Feb.
During the period of Neon Nights event, Rocket League is celebrating the Lunar New Year by offering the “Tiger free bundle” to players across all platforms. The bundle includes Tiny Tiger Topper and Tyger Decal and can be claimed for free from the item shop.
