In December of last year, the fast-food giants KFC shocked the gaming world when they announced that they would be launching their very own gaming console. If a fast-food chain jumping into the gaming scene wasn’t strange enough for you, its flagship feature is a built-in chicken warmer! In this article, we will explore all the latest information on the ‘KFConsole’ and all of its known features! When the fast-food chain first announced it would be making a gaming machine capable of running the latest games at mouthwatering levels of performance, gamers and chicken fans alike were skeptical at what was surely a social media hoax from the fast-food chain – however a short time later, we soon realized, this may not be a hoax after all!
It was 22nd December 2020 when the fast-food giants first revealed to the world that they would be making a new console called the KFConsole, via a video on their Twitter page. The console is set to feature a patented – world first – chicken warmer built right into the chassis! This may seem like a fancy gimmick at first however the supposed specs of the KFConsole are nothing to be sniffed at! The console was a collaborative effort between PC hardware giants Cooler Master, and Intel. First, we will talk about the chicken warmer. Nested in a custom-designed Cooler Master shell, the world’s first built-in chicken warming chamber will use the heat naturally generated by the components to keep your fried chicken warm in between rounds! KFC spokesperson Mark Cheevers was quoted saying the following to the BBC in England “If Sony or Microsoft want any tips on how to engineer a chicken warmer for their next efforts, they’d be welcome to get in touch.”. As you will see later on in this article, it is not just the chicken warmer that may get the console giants to take a closer look at this offering from the fast-food giants, as this console has specs just as mouth-watering as the famous chicken recipe!
One thing is for sure, under the shell it’s not just the chicken warming chamber that the KFConsole has to boast about, it also has some impressive specs too! The console will feature a Nuc9 Extreme Compute processor showing straight away that the chicken warming newbie is certainly nothing to be sniffed at – except when you’ve stuffed it full of succulent KFC wings! It’s not just a powerful processor that this console can boast about, Asus has delivered a graphics card capable of running the latest titles in 4k 240fps which is said to be on par with an RTX 2080 Super – which by the way, will be hot-swapped upgradeable – another world first for a console! When speaking to the BBC in England, KFC spokesperson Mark Cheeverrs said “This machine is capable of running games at top-level specs, all on top of keeping your meal warm for you to enjoy during your gaming experience… What’s not to like? “. On top of the PC-like performance provided by the CPU and the GPU respectively, the console also has 2TB of SSD storage provided in the form of the famous Seagate barracuda drives. So with plenty of performance and a built-in chicken warmer, it’s certain the console has the potential to take on the popular Xbox and Playstation consoles in the market!
While no official release date has been set for the console it’s certain fans all over the world will be waiting to get their hands on the KFConsole and put it to the test once and for all! It’s said that the console may not be a mass-production unit, however, it may be a Limited Edition piece of KFC merchandise with gamers forced to fight it out in the queue to get their hands on this impressive console offering from the family favorite fast-food chain!
