I have just arrived home after watching Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings and I decided to provide you a spoiler-free review while the film is still fresh on my mind. So let’s get into this review, and at the end, I’ll let you know whether or not I recommend watching this film.
Initial Thoughts and Reaction
All I can really say is wow! I was impressed by this film! Shang-Chi does follow the typical Marvel formula, but this film really adds a ton of heart to its story. The story between Shang-Chi and the members of his family is truly heartbreaking, and I really think you’ll love the cast they have picked for this film.
All of the cast really performed well, and all of the combat and fights scenes were very believable. From the trailer, I thought the fight scenes would take a ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’ direction, and in some cases you can argue that they did, but I really feel as a fan you will be entertained.
Another thing that Shang-Chi does well is the way it puts you in Shang-Chi’s world immediately. You get the sense that this movie is in the MCU, as there are references to the larger universe sprinkled throughout this film, and I personally love how connected the Marvel Universe is nowadays, but none of the easter eggs take you out or away from the story.
Stay Till The Very End
Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings has two end credit scenes. One that appears shortly after the movie, and another one after the entire end credits, so you’ll want to stay for both.
Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings is a great film and one that deserves repeat viewing. With its entertaining fight scenes and lovable characters, this is a nice addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’ve tried very hard to give this film a rating, for now, I’ll give this film an 8 of 10. I’ll post another review tomorrow that will go into the film’s story, and thoroughly explain my likes and dislikes with the film.
That’s all for now, and thank you so much for reading! We’ve just completed our review that does include spoilers, if you’re interested you can check out our full review of Shang-Chi.
