The official launch trailer for King of Fighters XV is here, and it promises to be a fun and entertaining ride. From what we gather from the trailer, on launch King of Fighters XV will feature 39 characters. Which includes all past characters, including those that were killed in the main story. King of Fighters XV already has at least two DLC’s announced which include 3 characters each.
It’s been at least 6 years since the last King of Fighters title, and this plans to build on the story from the previous game. It promises to have a climax that is sure to leave fans excited. The gameplay in the trailer looks phenomenal. It’s smooth, crisp, and it seems like this is one that will be easy to jump in if you’ve played the previous titles.
You should expect 3 on 3 player battles both local and online as well. KOF also includes a training mode, which is also available online, so you can test your skills and practice. KOF has a few new mechanics that caught my attention here. The first is ‘shatter strike’ which will allow you to counter enemy attacks. There will also be an improved version of MAX mode, and Max Mode (Quick). If you are concerned about being able to memorize lengthy combos KOF has a ‘rush’ function which allows you to combo easily by rapidly pressing the attack buttons, which can be a big help to brand new players to the title.
Special moves have been revamped for King of Fighters XV to make them appear more vibrant, and feel more explosive during battle. If you enjoy fast-paced fighting games such as Street Fighter, or Marvel vs Capcom, then KOF is a title that you should definitely check out when it’s released on February 17th, 2022.
Pre-orders for King of Fighters XV have already begun, and this game will be available on a variety of platforms on launch so everyone should be able to play and enjoy this title.
