Assimilate! (A Party Game) is set to be the next big indie game for fans of the social deduction genre. If you enjoyed Among Us then this is definitely a title you’ll want to add to your list. Assimilate! (A Party Game) will initially release on steam, but Friendship Is Fun does have plans to release this title on both Xbox and Playstation consoles.
What is Assimilate! (A Party Game)

Now Assimilate! (A Party Game) has us excited here at the Nerdgenics studio for a few reasons. The first is the overall setup of the game. Assimilate! (A Party Game) is set in the 1950s, and is centered around a group of 5 to 10 players. Amongst the Human players, there is one Robot who is trying to sneak its way into a ‘human’s only’ sock hop. The Robot will not attempt this on their own, they will have help from a Programmer that is also hidden amongst this group.
The Robot and the Programmer must work together to help the Robot assimilate into the sock hop without being discovered. The humans must work together to find and kick out the Robot from among their group.
Why This Game Has Us Excited!

The setup of Assimilate! (A Party Game) is simple enough, but the huge selling point for us here is how easy it is to play, and interact with the players. We did mention earlier that the game has a total of 5 to 10 players, but what we love is that only one player has to actually own the game.
Additional players can join the game using any web-enabled device or smartphone. This aspect of the game will really help introduce this game to your family or friends as not everyone needs to have a console to enjoy it with you. Whoever you’d like to play with can join you online or even via a zoom call. That aspect alone makes this game worth giving it a chance.
An additional aspect we are excited about is the observers. You can have up to 100 additional players join your game in Observer Mode. The observers can vote on who they think the Robot is, and since this game relies on each player using their mobile device, no identifiers are revealed to the observers. This helps to add another level of mystery to the game as everyone works together to identify the Robot. This additional gameplay element is sure to set this title apart in its genre even more.
